Recycled Living

A recent report from Greenpeace concluded that most types of single-use plastic- cannot be recycled in the US. This leads to large companies and grocery stores sending their plastics to the dumps.

Charlie Adrams, 17 year old founder of Portland based nonprofit, Recycled Living, plans to change that.

Recycled Living has partnerships with over a dozen grocery stores and large companies to collect their plastic that they produce. Recycled Living melts and compresses the plastic into dense plastic bricks, turning harmful plastic trash into tiny homes.

By repurposing plastic waste, Charlie and team are able to remove thousands of pounds of plastic out of our dumps and build homes for 98% less than traditional building materials.

Charlies goal is to provide free housing to aide Portland Oregon' homeless population.

Fresh off of a successful round of GoFundMe funding, Charlie and team are now working on the next phase of their plan. Can't wait to see how things develop.
